FAQ
how far in advance can i rent and how soon can i get my rental?
you can lock in a rental as early as you’d like prior to your shoot – some reserve months in advance. However, standard shipping is the only rate included in the rentals, so at least one week notice prior to your shoot is ideal. you may also purchase upgraded or overnight shipping if you wish, but how fast a rental can be shipped depends on my schedule and whether or not the rental needs cleaned.
can i rent for an event?
absolutely not. only professional photographers or event planners can rent these items for styled shoots only. these items are not allowed to be worn for actual events.
Where do you ship?
Anywhere in the united states, including alaska and hawaii. shoot us an email if you’re going out of the country and want to take one of our pieces with you – it will be considered if you can provide a united states shipping address.
How often do you add new pieces?
It just depends! If you join our mailing list, you will be notified each time a new arrival is added and will get first dibs on renting the item as well.
What if my rental doesn’t fit?
refunds will not be given if the item does not fit. We recommend checking the size listed on each rental page with your model’s size prior to reserving your item. the size listed on our website is the us street size of the dress, since most dresses listed are uk and aus bridal sizing. while most items have wiggle room +/- one size, it’s best to select a rental that is the same size as your model or larger. You can add padded clips to your rental to help form-fit your item for $10.
How are items shipped and how do I ship them back?
Our rentals are shipped in sturdy mailing boxes, and are packed in a garment bag. You will find Return instructions on a card inside your box as well as in your contract, and you will use the same box the rental arrived in to ship the rental back. It’s that easy!
a signature is required upon delivery.
You should ship all rentals with UPS or fedex. usps (the postal service) has too many shipping delays and has lost several items in recent months – we do not recommend shipping with usps as you are responsible for the item once it is in your possession until it has been delivered either to the next renter or back to us.
can your crown + earrings set be rented separately?
yes, it can! if you’d like to separate an accessories set, please mention that in your inquiry and we can give you a quote.
What happens if my rental gets dirty?
We understand that wearing the items outdoors will cause some sort of dirt buildup, and that’s expected! please avoid mud, excessive dirt, water, and thorns/sticks at all costs. You may clean the dress on your own by soaking the dirty spots in very warm water with a gentle stain remover (we use dawn dish soap and alternate between letting the item soak and gently massaging the stains). this is required if you are sending the dress directly to the next renter, and you will be notified immediately if shipping plans change. we will clean the item upon receipt if very dirty if you do not have time to clean the item yourself, but it is recommended since letting stains sit can cause them to permeate the fabric permanently. if the stains do not come out using this method, the item(s) will need to be dry-cleaned and you will be invoiced for that cost.
How are your rentals priced?
Our rental pricing is based on several factors, including retail price, how delicate the item is (it will be priced more if it has fringe, sequins, tassels, etc.), estimated longevity of the dress, and overall demand. If it’s a discontinued dress, it will be priced more. Newer collections will also be priced more. the classics collection will always be the cheapest because it is an ongoing collection with minimal fragility.
Do you suggest anything else?
Although the rentals are in good shape you may want to have certain items on-hand, such as safety pins or fabric tape, for any number of reasons. we highly suggest having a steamer on-hand as some items may be wrinkly upon arrival. Sometimes rentals are shipped directly from one renter to the next if rental dates are too close, and minor damage can happen between return rotations.
Can my rental dates be extended?
you may purchase a rental extension when reserving your rental if you know you’ll need more than 5 days for an additional $25 per day. if you need to keep the item past the 5-day rental period and you have already rented the item or already have the item(s) in your possession, it will depend on the current rental schedule. Just ask!
How do you pronounce BoneHaus?
Bone house!
dO YOU GIVE DISCOUNTS FOR MULTIPLE RENTALS?
Nope! Our rental prices are based on both the retail price of the item as well as the TOLL normal wear and tear will take on the longevity of the rental.
Do you feature images?
We do! We love to see what you create with our pieces and are so excited to share! if you wish to share galleries or images with us for features with full credit to you, you can email them to us at hello@bonehausrentals.com. make sure to tag us in your social media posts so we can see the magic @bonehausrentals!
What are the condition of the rentals?
These are rental items, so they will not be perfect – we like to compare them to a bridal shop sample. Our rentals come from all walks of life – There may be a missing tassel, a few beads missing, or a loose thread or two. the inner slips may be permanently stained with dirt or makeup which is typical. the designers highly suggest washing the dresses as little as possible to preserve the delicate fabrics, but items are spot cleaned on an individual basis. again, this is not something you would notice in the photographs. Items are sent in for repair for any very visible damage during downtime, but keep this in mind if you see anything less than perfect on your rental. if any major damage occurs prior to your rental, we will reach out to let you know as soon as possible to either substitute your rental or refund you completely. we document all damage prior to sending your item out and document all damage upon return – this is how we assess what damage has occurred during your rental period.
